The Art Of Extreme Sports Compilation Video

25 Apr

We have posted some extreme videos on here before, and I for one am a fan of them. It’s incredible the footage some people manage to get while doing some of the most extreme sports in the world, many of which could kill them. Luckily we don’t have to scourer the internet anymore looking for them, because TuneOfSoul has compiled just about every GNARLY video out there. So sit back and enjoy the incredible visuals — most of which will make your jaw drop.

H/T to Pablo for the tip!

The Avengers Trailer…Sort Of

18 Apr

As you know, we basically employ Andrew Smith to make videos for us weekly. Well I pitched an idea to him on my final week at RT and he set to work. What he has created, is probably the best Avengers trailer to date (believe me, I’ve watched all the other fan made ones). So sit back and enjoy the editing skills and get pumped for 2012, when the real trailer will be released, but not as good as this.

When Kombatants Stop Being Polite, and Start Getting Real – Mortal Kombat: Legacy

12 Apr

So a while back, we showed you a trailer for an upcoming Mortal Kombat movie reboot. Turns out it was just a promo shot independently by Kevin Tancharoen as a pitch to Warner Bros. for him to direct a reboot of the film franchise. Warner Bros. are idiots because they didn’t give him the greenlight on that project. They did, however, give him the go-ahead to direct a ten episode web series to be featured on Machinima, a popular gaming channel on YouTube. So without further delay, here’s the first installment of the Mortal Kombat web sieries, “Mortal Kombat: Legacy.” Round 1, fight!

Walk Off Win in Extra Innings…in Wiffleball.

6 Apr

Recently I joined a wiffleball league here in the DC area with a few friends (Jake, Will, Scott, and Marlon). We had opening day last Sunday, and in our second game versus our ‘rivals’ — we won in walk off fashion. I posted the video below, if you don’t want to watch the whole thing, you can just fast forward to the 54 minute mark to watch the bottom of the 7th and Scott’s walk off hit to score me. This league is going to be fun. They even keep track of all our stats!

To iPhone or not to iPhone, that is the question

5 Apr

Like many Verizon customers, I was ecstatic at the news that the iPhone would finally be coming to my network. So ecstatic, in fact, that I had to make a video to celebrate:

Finally I would leave the world of dumbphones behind and get the one and only smartphone I truly ever wanted, the iPhone! The only question was whether I would instantly get the iPhone 4, or cautiously wait to be rewarded as one of the first super-humans who possess the iPhone 5.

The closer and closer we got to June and Apple’s yearly Worldwide Developer Conference, blog after blog preached with certainty that the next generation iPhone would be gracing us with its presence. Alas, false hopes. With Apple announcing that the 2011 WWDC (where they’ve deputed that last three iPhones in that last three years) is solely focusing on software this year, the iPhone 5 may not appear until next fall or even 2012.

Now I am  faced with the choice of finally getting my coveted iPhone or trying out one of the new Android phones that are shaking up the industry. Read along and help me decide…

The Hangover Mashup Trailer

4 Apr

When the new ‘Hangover Part 2′ trailer debuted last week, I instantly noticed how similar it was to the first movie’s trailer and storyline. So I re-watched the old one and laughed at how similar they were. And then ScreenJunkies put up this great article proving I wasn’t the only one who noticed this. I set the task to our contributor Andrew Smith — make me a mash up trailer of the first and second one playing at the same time, with audio only from the Part 2 trailer. He did just that.

Monday Music Madness: “Top of the World (feat. Dev)” – The Cataracs & “Love 2 Baby” – Christian TV

Top of the World (feat. Dev) – The Cataracs

The sun is out. It’s going to be at least 80 degrees here in DC. Summer is right around the corner. So what does that mean? Party songs – loud bass and 808 drum beats, synthesized melodies and simple yet catchy hooks. “Top of the World” by The Cataracs and Dev is a great example of what a Summer song should be. Although it’s been out for a while, this song has yet to hit the airwaves. The Cataracs and Dev have been featured on this blog before, but I think this is their most fun and best song I’ve heard. With The Cataracs laying down verses and providing the beat and Dev providing the hook, they’ve created another hit. In fact, I don’t understand why they’re just not one group. Anyway, forget your allergies and spring right into Summer with “Top of the World.”:

Like this song? Be on the lookout for a new album by The Cataracs dropping sometime this year and be sure to check out Dev’s new album, The Night the Sun Came Up, dropping April 2011.

Keep reading for more songs! Continue reading

A Look Ahead to Movies in 2011

1 Apr

It’s that time of the year again, after reviewing the best trailers of 2009 and previewing the movies of 2010, let’s now look ahead to the summer of 2011. The summer is when all the movie studios roll out their biggest and baddest movies for the world to see. This year promises to have some of the best blockbusters to date, you’ll find them arranged chronologically by release date (I’ll also throw in my two cents).

We also had an idea — why not make a super trailer of the trailers? So if you don’t want to scroll through all of these or just want to get pumped for the 2011 summer, or if….just watch this! It took us a whole day of editing with the amazing talented eye of Andrew Smith. We hope you like it as much as we do (yes we made this):

Isn’t that amazing?

The full list of all the summer movies after the jump!
