Earlier this summer I had the honor of spending a weekend with the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWSAT). Recruited from all over the U.S., this team is made up of veteran and active duty soldiers who have lost limbs while serving their country. Through hard work, dedication and rehabilitation, these men now travel the country showing other amputees and the public that even after sacrificing for their country, they can return to a normal life and play the game they love. As pitcher Josh Wege says, “You go out there, you trust in your abilities and you just play ball.”
