Week 6: NFL Predictions!

16 Oct
Week 6

Bye: Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans, Kansas City Chiefs, Arizona Cardinals, San Diego Chargers, Seattle Seahawks

Sunday October 16, 1:00 PM Games

San Francisco 49ers at Detroit Lions

Andrew – Detroit. Who would have thought this would have been such an exciting match up!? Both teams have tough tough defenses, but only Detroit can get you through the air and with the run. Unfortunately, Alex Smith just won’t be able to get it done in the air, if he’s called upon to win the game for his team.

Greg – Detroit. A possible NFC Championship preview?!? That’s just weird to type. I think the 49ers are good, but not as good as the Lions are — they MIGHT just be the real deal.

St. Louis Rams at Green Bay Packers

Andrew – Green Bay. This hardly seems fair. The Rams really shouldn’t be THIS bad, but it doesn’t matter because even if they were playing at a higher level, no team is playing better than Green Bay right now. This would be my lock game if I hadn’t already picked Green Bay (survivor league).

Greg – Green Bay. Man the Rams have a tough schedule this year.

Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons

Andrew – Atlanta. I feel bad always picking against the Panthers, but as it turns out, I’ve been right. They seem to really be clicking on offense, and I don’t know if the defense hasn’t been playing or well, or the Panther’s schedule is just that hard, but again, another tough game on the road for them. I give this win to the Falcons, but just as the Panthers game with New Orleans was close, I expect this game to be even closer.

Greg – Atlanta Falcons. At home and finally figuring some things out on offense so they can keep winning. They will win this one easily.

Indianapolis Colts at Cincinnati Bengals

Andrew – Cincinnati. The Bengals remind me a lot of Tampa Bay last year. They’re just so young and energetic that it just seems to be more about just going out and having fun than it is about winning or losing. Of course it’s a lot more fun when you are winning, unlike the Indianapolis Colts. Despite some flashes of ability from Curtis Painter, Cincinnati’s defense is a tough test for anyone in the league, and after being up 17 on Kansas City and then losing, I don’t expect the Colts defense to keep the Bengals from putting up solid numbers.

Greg – Indianapolis Colts. This is exactly the game that Cincinnati will gladly lose.

Buffalo Bills at New York Giants

Andrew – New York Giants. Honestly, I think this game is a total coin flip. I don’t think the Bills are as good as their record dictates… I mean they can’t get pick 6s in every game of the season….right!? But, New York…New York… I don’t even know what to say. It almost seems as though New York got a little too cocky with the depth of their defensive line, and with Tuck and Osi alternating weeks on the bench due to injury, it’s starting to takes its toll. IF the Giants can stop Fred Jackson (big IF), and IF the Giants can protect the ball by running it and keeping it out of Eli’s interception throwing hands, then I think the Giants will be able to pull this one off.

Greg – New York Giants. Again, as I said last week, I do not think the Bills are actually this good, however this game will be close — bc the Giants aren’t very good either. It basically all depends on how few turnovers Eli can produce. If he keeps it to just 1, the Giants win.

The rest of the picks after the jump!
