Two years ago, “Good Girls Go Bad” was my jam for a long time. Honestly, it was just because of Leighton Meester. Ever since then, Cobra Starship has been pretty quiet. With their fourth album coming out soon, they’ve decided to start making some noise again. “You Make Me Feel…” is a modern day pop song. Relying on a steady dance beat and catchy hook, this song is everything it was supposed to be – a dance track. I expect it to make its rounds on the radio and clubs. But in the meantime, dance to “You Make Me Feel…” here:

Summer is here! Well sort of. Although it might not be officially Summer yet, the songs that are coming out make it sound like Summer is in full swing. Here are some songs that you might’ve missed over the past couple of weeks!
House music and Europe?? Who would’ve thunk it!? Just kidding, everyone thunk it because, let’s face it, when you think of bass thumping electro music, you can’t help but think of a sweaty night club in Europe. Swedish House Mafia would definitely be played in said sweaty clubs. This group of Swedish DJ’s, yes, they’re actually Swedish, have been producing beats since late 2008. They’ve been associated with such artists as Tinie Tempah and Pharrell. So check out “Save the World” and get this party started right:

The sun is out. It’s going to be at least 80 degrees here in DC. Summer is right around the corner. So what does that mean? Party songs – loud bass and 808 drum beats, synthesized melodies and simple yet catchy hooks. “Top of the World” by The Cataracs and Dev is a great example of what a Summer song should be. Although it’s been out for a while, this song has yet to hit the airwaves. The Cataracs and Dev have been featured on this blog before, but I think this is their most fun and best song I’ve heard. With The Cataracs laying down verses and providing the beat and Dev providing the hook, they’ve created another hit. In fact, I don’t understand why they’re just not one group. Anyway, forget your allergies and spring right into Summer with “Top of the World.”:

To be honest, I was not a huge fan of “Hold It Against Me”.” It was ok when it first came out, then after a while, it just got old. Britney Spears’ new song, however, is a song I don’t mind listening to. “Till the World Ends” is not a song about the end of the world; in fact, there’s nothing apocalyptic about it. In fact, it almost sounds like something from a Brazilian carnival; or as someone put it, a soccer match — a very gay soccer match. The anthem-y sound of this song is what makes it catchy. “Woooaaaaaaooohhhh” hasn’t been this catchy since “Zombie Nation”. Chances are you’ve heard this song before, but there’s no reason why we can’t make sure we have it just in case you didn’t. So check out “Till the World Ends”, and if you’re wondering, yes, this song is better than Lady Gaga’s song:

It sucks that there’s a big chance there won’t be a 2011 NFL season. It’s hard to think about what we’d we do without football distracting us for a couple of hours on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Audio Push, or “The Push,” has managed to take all of that and make a song that sounds like it’s supposed to be about football, but is actually about big ‘ol butts. Sneaky, sneaky. They’ve already provided me with one of my favorite songs (and dance moves) “Teach Me How to Jerk” and it seems like they’ve given me another song to party to. There’s a certain flow to their raps and a distinct Cali-inspired sound to their beats that makes me like them. So try to do the reject and check out “Throw It Back”:

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Pitbullswitches it up here is back with another dance track. Here he talks about flying all around the world and spreading love and dance, much like a Latino Santa. Latino Santa is joined on the track by Chris Brown. Now, I appreciate that he’s trying to make a comeback. With Yeah x3 and being featured on other songs, he’s on his way to making that possible. But, will he ever be as big as he was before that fateful night? No – and I’m ok with that. So check out “International Love”:

After he released “2012 (It Ain’t the End)“, I thought that Jay Sean had another hit that would be overplayed on the radio. Now, although this song made it big in the UK, it only made it to #31 on the US Billboard Charts. Looks like this ol’ broad can be wrong sometimes. Well it looks like this new song might be a little more successful. “Hit the Lights” is a new song with a very catchy beat, addicting hook , and a smooth verse laid down by Lil Wayne. Check out “Hit the Lights” below:

It’s been brought to my attention by one of my fellow blog writers that this decent song by Mann samples Nu Shooz‘s song I Can’t Wait. Yay for the 80′s!! The beat produced by J-J-J-J-J-J.R. Totem is pretty addictive, to tell you the truth. I’m loving the old school feel you get from the beat. The hook is simple enough to get you yelling it by the end of the song and Mann’s got a decent enough flow to make this song radio-play worthy. Although his lyrics aren’t anything new, the song will be a hit if given a chance. Check out “Buzzin’”:

When I saw that there was a “dirty” version of this song, I thought to myself that it couldn’t be that different than the one I heard. Boy, I was wrong. So we’re sticking with the “clean” version, because it’ll probably be the one played on the radio and it’s just… uh.. well… less awkward. Enrique Iglesias comes out with another club banger and it’s not half bad. It’s your standard falsetto song about women, clubs, dancing, and doing the no-no, but the beat is just so freaking catchy that you can’t help but start-a-dancing. Ludacris is also on the track laying down a couple of lines. So check out “Tonight” below:

Well folks, we have another hit on our hands here. Recently, Usher has established himself to be the dancefloor king by providing us with his current hit DJ Got Us Falling In Love, which has been blowing up the charts and the clubs/bars. His new single, “More,” provides us with more dance fuel. Now I’m not sure if the version below is what’s on his album, because this one sounds more “dance-y,” but I do know for a fact it was produced by RedOne, who’s pretty much provided Lady GaGa with her sound. So don’t get fancy and just get dancy with “More”:
Remember ‘Making the Band’? Remember how Diddy tried twice to “make a band”? Well it seems that he’s not done and I think he might have done well this time around. Allow me to introduce iSquare. The better version of the Black Eyed Peas consists of four memebers, Mike J, Destiny, Briddy, and 10Beats. Their debut single “Hey Sexy Lady” is a perfect mix of 90′s dance techo and hip/hop. It’s nothing new, especially in regards to today’s dance-pop song craze, but I actually could see these guys cranking out a couple of hits – especially if they’re under the guidance of the Bad Boy boss. So check out “Hey Sexy Lady” and remember, if this band blows up, you heard ‘em here first (at least we like to think you did):
