So last year we put together a summer blockbusters preview for you. Basically we took all the other trailers, mashed them up, and made a fun trailer for you to get ready for the movies this year! Well we’ve done it again. Enjoy the (dubstep!) show!!
Well it’s the end of August everyone, and as we turn our calendars to September we also turn the page on the Summer of blockbusters that was 2011. A lot of movies came into this year (many of which we previewed!) with tons of hype only to underperform, while others surprised and are still holding strong in the box office. We even had the same movie from 2009 come out again! So once again we employed our own Andrew Smith to take to the edit bay and make a memoriam. A way for the Kibitzers to say farewell to the Summer and give you the viewer a reminder of what movies did well — and what movies flopped.
So sit back and take in the movies, they are arranged from lowest opening weekend to highest. And before you get all technical and start complaining about us not taking in natural disasters or number of movie theaters it opened in, too bad — that would’ve been tons of work. Enjoy it for what it is. Try not to tear up as we go through the films either.
We even put together a great interactive visualization for you to play with…HERE!
When you go see Captain America, be sure to stay after the credits.
Ok well Hollywood is out in force today and have taken the video down just about everywhere, but let’s be honest here, would you rather watch a bootlegged trailer or (in my opinion) a much better trailer, made by our own Andrew Smith.
There’s actually a comment debate raging on this video about whether or not it’s real or fan-made, I think that is a huge compliment to Andrew. Well done!!
It was only a matter of time until these came out. We all saw what Thor will look like, but what about our boy Captain ‘Murca? Well, the wait is over kinda over. Thanks to Ain’t It Cool News, here are confirmed images/designs of Captain America’s costume:
USA! USA!! USA!!!!
Captain America: The First Avenger gets all patriotic on non-’Muricans July 22, 2011.

Iron Man 2 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated movies coming out this year. But, with the movie coming out this Friday, May 7, one question still remains, which Marvel character will make a cameo appearance?
In the first Iron Man, we were introduced to Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson. Ever since then, Marvel has stressed that they will put in a cameo of a Marvel character in each movie to promote the fact that the Marvel Universe is connected; a.k.a, they’re introducing each character associated with The Avengers before its release in 2012. So to me, they’ll be focusing more on introducing the Avengers and making sure that story arc works by using these other films. So let’s go and explore the possibilities:

In The Incredible Hulk, Tony Stark makes an appearance and mockingly asking General Ross about the “unusual problem” he had. He then also mentions that there is a “team” being assembled. Also, the Hulk is essential to the creation of The Avengers. In the first Avengers comic, Loki, the Norse god of mischief, tricked the Hulk into destroying a railroad track. After a brief altercation, Iron Man, the Hulk, Ant Man, and Thor, banded together to create the Avengers. But because of the fight the Hulk had with his soon to be allies, some have suggested that the Hulk be a bad guy in the Avengers movie. Perhaps, he can show up in this movie and create some problems Iron Man can’t fix alone?
