After he released “2012 (It Ain’t the End)“, I thought that Jay Sean had another hit that would be overplayed on the radio. Now, although this song made it big in the UK, it only made it to #31 on the US Billboard Charts. Looks like this ol’ broad can be wrong sometimes. Well it looks like this new song might be a little more successful. “Hit the Lights” is a new song with a very catchy beat, addicting hook , and a smooth verse laid down by Lil Wayne. Back in April, we introduced you guys to a little tune titled Like A G6 by Far East Movement. We knew it was going to be a big song, but we didn’t expect it to be that huge of a hit. Well, it seems like this group of Azn’s are back with a follow-up song that’s equally as catchy and will probably find its own popularity when it makes it was around the radio and clubs. Greg, one of the writers of this blog, has always had one ultimate dream – to be the Rocketeer. You remember him right? You know, the jet pack, metal mask wearing hero from the 1991 movie? Well unfortunately, this song is not about him, but it does feature Ryan Tedder from One Republic. I’m not going to lie, I’m really feeling this Bruno Mars co-written song and I guarantee you’ll be singing the chorus by the end of the song. Check out “Rocketeer” below:

I remember hearing “Down” and instantly liking it. The I remember hearing “Do You Remember”, and thinking to myself, “This song is decent, but he could do better.” Well apparently, Jay Sean ‘heard’ me. First of all, this song is extremely catchy. I was immediately bobbing my head when I first pressed play after finding this song. Secondly, he teamed up with Nicki Minaj (who has two other songs on this week’s Monday Music Madness) the hottest female rapper right now. So take those two together and assume that Jay Sean’s favorite movie is 2012, and you get a guaranteed hit. So check out your Doomsday Clock and listen “2012″.:

I was never a fan of Kevin Rudolf. When everyone was geeking out over “Let it Rock” and “Welcome to the World,” I was too busy pointing out that they’re the same song. Seriously, listen to them, they’re the same song. But when I heard “I Made It (Cash Money Heroes)”, I have to admit, I liked it. Plus the fact that they used “Heroes” to describe themselves is ridiculous.
DJ Earworm does it again. He’s created another mash-up of the top 25 songs of 2009 and created an incredible song. Although I kind of liked his 2008 mix more, this mix is definitely good. I just love how all of the songs mix so well together. Check it out below:
And if you still haven’t seen or heard his video for 2008, check out “United States of Pop 2008 (Viva La Pop)” below:
Which song do you think should have been put in and which mix was better?
I don’t understand why people are still hiring Lil Jon to yell in their songs. Wasn’t that fad replaced with auto-tune and hooks that comprised of two to three lines being repeated over and over? Anyway, Jay Sean‘s new song “Do You Remember” definitely has the simple hook down but Sean Paul and Lil Jon? I mean, really? Check it out below. I’m sure once this gets on the radio, it won’t go away for quite some time.
Off of Lil Wayne‘s new rock album “Rebirth,” comes this amazing track featuring Eminem!
Bonus:
Even though this song is from October – I can still listen to it again and again. One Republic – “Secrets”
