Monday Music Madness: “You Make Me Feel… (feat. Sabi)” – Cobra Starship & “Stereo Hearts (feat. Adam Levine)” – Gym Class Heros

You Make Me Feel… (feat. Sabi) – Cobra Starship

Two years ago, “Good Girls Go Bad” was my jam for a long time. Honestly, it was just because of Leighton Meester. Ever since then, Cobra Starship has been pretty quiet. With their fourth album coming out soon, they’ve decided to start making some noise again. “You Make Me Feel…” is a modern day pop song. Relying on a steady dance beat and catchy hook, this song is everything it was supposed to be – a dance track. I expect it to make its rounds on the radio and clubs. But in the meantime, dance to “You Make Me Feel…” here:

Monday Music Madness: “That Tree (feat. Kid Cudi)” – Snoop Dogg & “As We Enter” – Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and Nas

“That Tree (feat. Kid Cudi)” – Snoop Dogg

This song is about a month or so old, but it randomly came on my iTunes and for the life of me couldn’t figure out why it hasn’t been on Music Monday Madness yet. These two artist don’t really need any introduction really. You can never go wrong with Snoop Dogg and Kid Cudi rapping over an awesome beat. If you’re wondering why you haven’t heard this on the radio yet, it’s probably because this song doesn’t have auto-tune on it. The thing I like about this song is the transition between a “West Coast beat” into a synthesized Cudi beat. It’s just awesome. Anyway, it’s no secret that these two are talented so twist up your middle and ring fingers and blast “That Tree” while riding around in your 64:

Monday Music Madness: “Pass Out” – Chiddy Bang & “I Like That” – Static Revenger & Richard Vission feat. LUCIANA

Pass Out – Chiddy Bang

We featured this group on one of our Thursday Mixtapes because they’re awesome. Chiddy Bang is made up of  two guys from Philly that sure know how to rap and sample beats. Their first single “Opposite of Adults” made it all the way up to number 8 in the UK Singles Chart. I think they’ll be as successful here too. Check out, “Pass Out,” a just released song of theirs off of their free mixtape, Air Swell:

Monday Music Madness: “Cooler Than Me (Single Mix)” – Mike Posner & “Like a G6 (feat. Cataracs & Dev)” – Far East Movement

Cooler Than Me (Single Mix) – Mike Posner

This artist has worked with the likes of Kid Cudi, Wale, and 3OH!3, just to name a few. Mike Posner is known for his high-energy live shows and the major buzz he got about his mixtape “One Foot Out the Door.” So when I first heard the song “Cooler Than Me,” I wasn’t surprised that it had an awesome beat and was ridiculously catchy. I knew I had to share this song and artist. Check it out and see if you like it. [iTunes]

Monday Music Madness:”Baby I’m Yours” – breakbot (feat. Irfane) & “For Your Sorrows” – Big Boi (feat. Too Short & George Clinton)

15 Mar

Well this is a first. There is little to no information about breakbot. Here is what I do know, aside from the fact that he has some of the catchiest songs ever; he’s French, he looks like Jesus, and he has numerous remixes under his belt. Check out ”Baby I’m Yours” below:

Monday Music Madness: “Over” – Drake & “Bulletproof” – La Roux

8 Mar

Drake already has his share of hits and to think, he’s only released a mixtape. “Over” is his first single from his official album, tentatively titled Thank Me Later. Will this song be as big as “Best I Ever Had”? “Forever”? Guess we’ll find out. Check it out below:

Monday Music Madness: “Coldest Winter” – Kanye West & “Say Something” – Timbaland feat. Drake

1 Mar

After flying under the radar after Swift-gate, Kanye West has come out with a new song and video. But don’t get too excited about it. I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s not that bad – but I guess he’s still in his “artsy (fartsy)” experimental stage. I sure do miss the old Kanye, though. But check out the video to “Coldest Winter” below:

Monday Music Madness: “Darling, It’s True” – Locksley & “One Day” – Matisyahu

1 Feb

When I first heard Locksley, I instantly said “this is a great British band.” Then after I did more research from them, I found out they’re a bunch of Americans originally from Madison, Wisconsin. CHEEESSEE!! And surprise surprise, they’re now based out of Brooklyn, NY. Their sound is pretty much described as a re-incarnation of the British Invasion bands, ie. The Beatles, The Kinks, The Animals, etc. Basically, they’re good. Check out “Darling, It’s True” below:

If you want to hear more Locksley, check their Myspace here. Thanks to Jasmine for the tip!

I first heard Matisyahu randomly while watching MTV U. And since then, I’ve liked him. This hasidic Jewish reggae beatboxer has been cranking out some inspirational music as of late. I kinda wish he went back to his “King Without a Crown” and “Jerusalem” days. Regardless, check out his most recent inspirational song “One Day” below. I’m sure they’ll use it for the Winter Olympics or something.

And if you thought, this song is good, but it’s missing a little Akon, well, I got your back. Check out the Acorn filled song here.
