Monday Music Madness: “My First Kiss (feat. Ke$ha)” – 3OH!3 & “Got Your Back (feat. Keri Hilson)” – T.I.

My First Kiss (feat. Ke$ha) – 3OH!3

Say what you want about 3OH!3 and Ke$ha, but they make catchy a** songs. They first teamed up on Blah Blah Blah‘ off Ke$ha‘s album – and I guess it was time to return the favor. “My First Kiss” by “KeOH!3″ (see what I did there?) gets stuck in your head like nobody’s business. How can such a simple hook with “Oo’s” and “sing-talking” do that to you?! They’ve tapped into a goldmine. Curse them. Them and their beats…Check it out below and think about your first kiss:

Monday Music Madness: “Power (feat. Dwele)” – Kanye West & “Dirty Picture (feat. Ke$ha)” – Taio Cruz

Power (feat. Dwele) – Kanye West

Guess who’s back to rapping? And may I just say – Thank God. I was getting so tired of his “artistic” phase. Kanye West is, in my opinion, much more entertaining/enjoyable when he spits instead of “sings.” He released his new single, “Power” on May 31st and I’m sure it’ll be blowing up the charts soon enough. You know how the Louis Vuitton Don‘s influence on the Billboard Charts is. Although his last single, “Coldest Winter” didn’t make a dent on the music charts or in people’s minds, I’m sure this song will. Mr. West is back in the building:

Monday Music Madness: “California Gurls (feat. Snoop Dogg)” – Katy Perry & “Zoosk Girl (feat. T-Pain)” – Flo Rida

California Gurls (feat. Snoop Dogg) – Katy Perry

Oh dear. Allow me to introduce you to this Summer’s jam. I’m also expecting this to be used for numerous Facebook photo albums. I’m not going to lie – this song is awesome. As the first official single off of Katy Perry‘s new album, Teenage Dream, California Gurls” has a funky, poppy sound to it. There’s no denying it’s a “Summer song.” Apparently it was written as a response to Jay-Z/Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind.” Check out “California Gurls (feat. Snoop Dogg)” below and put it on repeat. SUMMER IS HERE FOLKS!

Like this song? Make sure to check out her other single, Teenage Dream, and buy Teenage Dream dropping August 30th.

Monday Music Madness:”Baby I’m Yours” – breakbot (feat. Irfane) & “For Your Sorrows” – Big Boi (feat. Too Short & George Clinton)

15 Mar

Well this is a first. There is little to no information about breakbot. Here is what I do know, aside from the fact that he has some of the catchiest songs ever; he’s French, he looks like Jesus, and he has numerous remixes under his belt. Check out ”Baby I’m Yours” below:

Monday Music Madness: “Coldest Winter” – Kanye West & “Say Something” – Timbaland feat. Drake

1 Mar

After flying under the radar after Swift-gate, Kanye West has come out with a new song and video. But don’t get too excited about it. I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s not that bad – but I guess he’s still in his “artsy (fartsy)” experimental stage. I sure do miss the old Kanye, though. But check out the video to “Coldest Winter” below:

Monday Music Madness: “Giving Up the Gun” – Vampire Weekend & “Gorecki Fix Up My Girlfriend Some More” – Dan Black

22 Feb

We’ve featured Vampire Weekend here a lot. Let’s face it, they’re good. This song is off of their album “Contra”, which is on iTunes and in stores now. The Giving Up the Gun music video has a star-studded cast (RZA, Jake Gyllenhaal, Lil Jon & Joe Jonas) so it’s very entertaining. And the song’s great too:

Monday Music Madness: “11th Dimension” – Julian Casablancas & “My Moon My Man (Boiz Noiz Remix)” – Feist

11 Jan

Julian Casablancas is the lead singer of the strokes as well as his side band, “Julian Casablancas”…original, no? I heard this song back in September when he performed it on Conan, but I guess it’s just getting to radio now? Anyway, check out the song “11th Dimension” below:

Feist‘s music can normally be described as indie or folk. Her song “1234″, made popular by iPod commercials, was a huge hit. Although her follow up songs weren’t as popular, “My Moon My Man” was one of my favorite follow-ups. This remix, however, makes that song less folky and more dancey, regardless of whether that’s a real word or not.

BONUS:

I’m not sure if he’s still relevant, since his last “good” song was “Love in This Club.” Anyway, here’s Usher‘s new single, “Daddy’s Home.” And no, the song’s not about being a father.

Monday Music Madness: “Break Your Heart” – Taio Cruz & “Tie Me Down” – New Boyz feat. Ray J

28 Dec

I’ve never heard of this guy but this song has got me hooked. This song reminds me of Summer, which is a good thing since it’s after Christmas and there’s no point to winter now. “Break Your Heart” reminds me a lot of “Sexy Chick”. Similarly, Taio Cruz reminds me a lot of Akon, except I think this guy can sing. If this song makes it to radio, which I hope it does, this is a definite Top 40 song. Check out the song below and the official music video here.

Did “You’re a Jerk?” ever make it to the radio? I don’t remember hearing it. New Boyz has a new song that breaks away from talking about jerkin’. The video doesn’t even show enough jerkin’! What is this?! But this song is decent and is definitely another “Summer” song. Check it out below.

UPDATE:

Remember that new mysterious new band Monarchy? Well, no one knows who they are still, but they released a new song, and it’s their best yet. Follow the link to get to it.

Wait, You’re Telling US About: Ke$ha?

18 Dec

Alrighty, we don’t want to toot our own horns here but: TOOT TOOT. Maybe a month or two ago, a lot of you were introduced to a catchy, synthesized pop song called “Tik Tok” by an unknown singer named Ke$ha. And just like that, everyone’s Facebook statuses and album titles were lines from that song.

But what if I told you that we already knew about her since July??

With the hit song “Right Round”, which she did the vocals for, by Flo Rida on the radio, we were expecting a lot of big things from this singer. So we were pretty convinced that “P. Diddy (Tik Tok)”, which is what it was called at the time, was going to be a huge summer jam after we heard it. But, little did we know that it would hide in obscurity until just recently

And for those that want to know why a ‘$’ is in her name, according to her:

“It was me taking the piss out of the fact that I was broke while being on a # 1 record (“Right Round”). I didn’t have enough money to buy a taco.”

So I guess it’s her symbolically saying eff you to being poor. Sounds to me like she should’ve been Ke-taco. Just sayin’.

So, before she blows up again, here are a couple of songs of hers that we think will be very popular. And if these do end up becoming huge hits, remember who called it first.
